Extra features have been added to help organisations such as driver training schools and emergency services who wish to use the simulator as part of their training programs.
Other features are available for use by companies such as caravan and trailer manufacturers to promote their products at trade shows and exhibitions.
If your organisation would like to make use of any of these features, please contact us for further details.
Two configurations are currently available, each with different feature combinations.
This configuration is designed for use by driving instructors in a classroom environment. It assumes the use of a steering wheel, connected to a PC with a single screen.
In training mode, the main display shows a multi-view panel where three separate views (front window and left/right mirrors) are placed side-by side. This is similar to the standard multi-view panel but with the layout of the screen modified to make maximum use of available horizontal space.
This allows each view to be as large as possible while still maintaining its original 16:9 aspect ratio. This layout can be used on any size screen but is particularly effective on a large screen TV. The training version can also be customised to add your organisation logo to upper part of the main screen.
Observer and Bird’s-Eye views are also available in training mode for the demonstration of manoeuvres.
This feature allows each reversing attempt to be recorded and replayed. The replay can be set to start from any point in the manoeuvre and viewed from any angle using the Observer and Bird’s-Eye views.
An alternative, linear guidance indicator is available in place of the standard rotational indicator. You can select whichever you prefer, or hide the guidance indicator entirely if not required.
If you prefer the simulator not to be used while unattended a lock screen feature is available. When locked, the simulator will not respond to user input until an unlock code is entered. It can also be set to display your organisation logo while locked.
This configuration is designed for use at trade events and exhibitions. It assumes the use of a steering wheel, connected to a PC equipped with multiple screens.
To give users a more immersive experience the three main views (front window and left/right mirrors) are displayed side-by-side on three separate screens. This layout also helps to make the activity more visible to anyone passing by.
The screens displaying the mirror views can be angled appropriately to further give the impression that they represent physical mirrors.
If a fourth screen is available, it can be used to let spectators see what the driver is doing. Ideally, this should be situated in an elevated position to improve visibility. This is particularly useful in a crowded exhibition where a large number of people may be present.
This feature also requires the use of an extra screen but can conveniently use the spectator screen mentioned above. The operator can easily swap between scoreboard and spectator view at any time.
This uses the same scoring system as the one built into the standard simulator but keeps a local record of all drivers, allowing them to compete with each other. This feature has already proved to be very popular with exhibition visitors.
To ensure the simulator is not used while unattended a lock screen feature is available. When locked, the simulator will not respond to user input until an unlock code is entered. It can also be set to display your organisation logo while locked.
Any of the above features can be combined to provide a bespoke configuration. For example, a single large screen could be used at an exhibition where space is limited. A spectator display might be useful in a training environment to demonstrate manoeuvres to the class. Below are some other features not associated with the two main configurations.
This feature can be used to place a time limit on the completion of any manoeuvre. Once the set time has elapsed the manoeuvre is automatically halted.
Some activities, such as boat launching and recovery may involve using a front mounted hitch. This feature is available for use with some towing vehicles.
If you require specific towing vehicles, trailers or scenes, these can be created on request.
